Congratulations, Niki Roxbury!!

Niki Roxbury, Traverse City Central High School Class of 2016, has been accepted into the US Naval Academy Class of 2020 thanks in part to the assistance she received from TCAPS Partner In Education partner, Michigan College Planning. “Niki continues to work on her grades while she prepares for graduation and her next chapter in life,” said Vicki Beam, owner of Michigan College Planning. “I’ve had the pleasure of working with Niki and her parents, Rich and Mary Roxbury, since the summer before her sophomore year. She knew the hard work it takes in high school to keep up the grades, participate in the activities and sports and get the recommendations that colleges are looking for.” |
Niki considered many possibilities including traditional colleges and universities as well as the military academy options including Navy, WestPoint, Air Force and the Coast Guard. If the Naval Academy hadn’t worked out, Niki was also considering ROTC options.
“Niki will graduate college with a degree that has been completely paid for by the U.S. Navy. In addition, she will leave college with a high paying job and a great deal of leadership training that she will use for the rest of her life, making her very marketable in the private sector when she finishes her five years of active service requirements – if she chooses to leave the military life,” said Beam.
Proud parents Rich and Mary Roxbury stated “Michigan College Planning services have helped Niki in many ways that neither of us could have and feel many parents could help their kids by meeting with and using Vicki Beam’s and Michigan College Planning services.”
